I haven't really done anything this month... I have more or less just been planning. I have been working away on my dinosaur wedding invitations that I spoke about last month. At the moment I am just having a geek moment, playing with typography. I have also been looking into the more specifics of the wording used and I came across this beauty; I'm sure this is an oldy, but I honestly laughed my head off when I saw this. As my wedding invitations are just novelty. You can expect a simiar tone of whimsicalness. Minus my dinosaur novelty wedding invitations. I have also redesigned some business cards and made a gift voucher. I have to admit I have never made a gift voucher before, which wasn't difficult. However due to my client wanting the design to match her business card, I found it a bit challenging. I however think I got this to work. The business cards I created are a lot plainer. Having a simple white background with my client’s logo on the side. As shown below (I have removed clients information, hence why there is so much white) This also just the back of the new cards. My client wanted some space to actually write details on the card. The gift voucher also has a back with simply "To" and "From". This pretty much all I have done this month. I am planning on buying a new toy to help with creating more art on the go. My christmas present to me, from me. The Surface Pro 4, I hopefully will get this toy before christmas. SO EXCITED!!!!!! I'd also like to take this moment to congratulate Morgan and Ashleigh on the birth of their baby boy today Jacques.
That's all from me, I guess we start getting christmasie

Today has been a beyond stressful day. I have had problems with my phone not charging as well as stress just with trying to get all my work handed in on time. I had to go get my phone sorted out, which was a joke as I have to get it sent away and I now have a phone that I'm pretty sure is from the stone-age. Although at least it has colour I guess. So I didn't get as much work done today as I wanted, I have been just more or less writing up things on and off and sorting out my website. As you can see the website is now a little different. As it didn't originally have a little bit about me in the side bar or the categories. So I ended up having to change theme within weebly, but because my logo is a little awkward with being a GIF. I had to edit a bit of the code so it was continue to show up as it is currently. I have to admit I am actually pretty proud of myself, as if someone had asked me six months ago to try and edit some html code, I think I would have cried. I am starting to think that I am getting the hang of things. I definitely wouldn't say I'm a coding genius or anything at all like that. But code is starting to be come less like hieroglyphics. Also I know as I had said yesterday I was continuing to edit my magazine cover, I ended up coming up with this: So I come up with this, I actually really like this, there are just a few minor things I still need to sort out within the image. But I'm pretty happy with this, I purposely chose the gold writing to symbolize money, as of course I am getting at consumerism and corporations screwing over not only their workers but even the people consuming their goods.
Tomorrow, I am hoping to get a lot more done and have a lot more to show, however thats all from me today Today I didn't get a much done today as I wanted to, I did a bit of research today, looking at piggy banks for the end of year show and even researching prices for foam board for the show, I haven't yet ordered my playing cards. I am still hoping to get others opinions, but I plan of making the purchase tomorrow, as well as trying not to cry over the price of them. I did however, re-take images for the No Say, Coca Cola image. I realized that all of the images I had chosen to use, like the facebook and the bar-code images. I had my hair tied back in all of them, So although, I felt I had a good sort of contrast with the images I have. I didn't really feel it quiet worked. So I re-took the images. and low and behold, I don't like any of the re-taken photos: I want to go back again and re-edit the image in a different way. As this seems too worked on.
Short blog today. That's all from me for today. Today has been a busy, busy day! I finally got around to doing the projector portrait photography, This was my set up today and it was so complicated: As I was using myself as the model, just cause it was easier and my flat mate is currently at home. I had to set up a mirror so I could actually measure my face up to the images I was projecting onto my face. As I couldn't really line up with the camera. It was really hard to be honest. But I got through it! Yay me! These are just some of the images I took today. I haven't yet photoshopped any of them apart from just cropping the images down. Minus that these are oh naturale. I also started to look into doing student advise posters. I have to admit I really don't like them and although, the above images are tied in with the viewbug challenge. These I feel (and I know I've said it before) tie back into my main project of consumerism, just in a different direction of looking into the companies that exploit people. Anyways! here are my posters that I created, due to really not liking my video: So as you can see they still need a bit of work. I really don't like how I've displayed the writing, I wanted to be clear, but I find this pretty boring of a layout. Tomorrow I plan to start photoshopping the portraits I took today, work away again on the above images, I am also hoping to get started on possibly a new card set. That's all from me today.
So I have completely finished the monsters deck: TAAAAA DAAAAA!!!!! Ok, so these go in the order of Clubs, Diamonds, Spades, and Hearts. I also went back and fixed a few things I wasn't too happy about within my original, or should I say first design. I am not too sure about continuing on with a 4th and final design for the end of year show. I will plan to, I am just unsure of my time left. Tomorrow I will be focusing on my photography and using the projector. I feel like I am at a really good stage with all of my projects. I am more or less finishing off all of my projects and fixing things that need fixed. In truth, I am actually starting to shit myself. This is go time and time suddenly feels like something I don't have much of.
I got my video finished today!!! YAY although I am rather pissed off the music for my video has cut out at the very end. I am currently uploading it to uni. I don't even know if it's going to work, but it is currently 61% uploaded and I still have another 122 minutes remaining...... whhhhhhhaaaatttttt!!!!! So we had a class meeting today, the fear is definitely been struck into everyone of us poor students. I have been told I basically I have 3 weeks if not less to get all my pieces I want to put up for the show done. As the people we go into within uni are basically gone for summer from 29th of this month.... AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! so that's pretty mental, have to pull the finger out and get some work done big time! There was also talk of having a shop at the show, so I'm contemplating getting my cupcake cards printed to sell at the show, I have even also created a patter to possibly go on the box of the cards. My flat mates also gave me a really good idea that because I am obviously a student, we are idiots and play drinking games such as "Ring Of Fire" or "Kings" (there are the same card game people!) So I think I will create a very quick one, this may just be words on the cards themselves. I am unsure if ill do illustrations for it. Anyways! here's my patterns: I am also to design the backs and the jokers, which I will do tomorrow, along with the redesign of my end of show space. I will hopefully also have my video to show for tomorrow, however the music is a little screwed on it so hopfully I might be able to fix this tomorrow also. Also I have tweaked my photography piece for the ViewBug challenge. I am still not too sure about it as my hair in the image is still really annoying me. I feel pretty done though to be honest, i may go back in and give the hair a proper look tomorrow when i get a chance.
That's all from me today. Today I didn't get a much done as I wanted to. Although I am starting to make progress with my main project and starting to get my third and possibly final re-designing of the deck of cards done. Below is a quick sketch I did for one of my characters of monsters, my ghost. I think it looks very Tim Burton like, So I thought it would be pretty interesting to make all of my character stick in with this theme Here is some characters from Tim Burton's movies for inspiration.
I have also been sorting out the information that is going into my video. It is a lot more categorized, which is good. Tomorrow I am planning on just working on my video. I also have to re-write my little blurb that will go beside my work at the end of year show. Things are getting really hectic, I am hoping to also purchase my new business card tomorrow..... hopefully, I have asked a good few more people their opinions on which business card designs I should get. I have had a bit of a unanimous decision on which design to go for. I am still waiting on people to get back to me, but I think I might just go for it. Means they will be here before the end of year show. That's all from me today, hopefully more things to show tomorrow I got a hell of a lot done today, very happy. I have started to make my video, I have even cut a few scenes from it, as when looking back at my story board I actually noticed I would have two title frames and then my information, which doesn't make any sense. So far it is going very well. I expect I should have the whole thing done in roughly a week. Hopefully less, just currently trying to balance all my projects. I have also started to plan for my ViewBug Challenge and have decided to make awareness of consumerism, in my portraits. I have pretty much one really good idea at the moment, So hopefully I will get around to doing that either tomorrow or even Thursday. I have started to sketch out new characters for my monsters deck of card series, not too sure how they are going to work out, I can see me just going full blown in your face colours. But I still really want to experiment with this style first. I have also been looking more into how to design my business cards I now have four different options. 3 of the options are to go for the square business card. Here are the scene shots of them below. I'm not too sure about adding the landscape image. although I have to admit I really like the bottom two scene shots. I asked my boyfriend and my flat mate which they preferred. Which I do with most of my work, and they are usually pretty spot on and say the same thing. I got two completely different answers.... feeling a little stuck however I do plan on asking others, so this isn't the end of the world. I will let you know what I decide in the end. Or please leave a comment below on which you think I should go for. That's all from me today.
May The Forth Be With You! Today I finished off writing up my sketch books, I also researched unique portraits from my ViewBug project which the deadline is for next week. So here are some inspiration images I have been looking at. I really like how I have total freedom with this, I have a maximum of two entries. Some of these are pretty mental, like the top image on the right with the spaghetti and meat just randomly on models faces..... its a creative? yep... a little weird. Totally entertaining though. I really like the powder paint and the paint on peoples faces. I have been thinking about the possibility of putting in some things to do with consumerism, not too sure how that's going to work out, but I will be experimenting with it anyways.
I have also been looking at some of the art supplies I have. I have a lot of ink, so I might also incorporate that into this portrait challenge. I have also been looking for music to go with my video for my main project and been planning out what I want to do. I have things a little bit more sorted, however I'm not going to lie. I have been more thinking and planning one what to do with all my projects today. I am in that panic mode when I think of all the things I have to do, and end up sort of doing nothing..... eeeeek I am hoping to have more to show in the next following days. So today, I have been very productive, I have created backgrounds for my video., trying to create different ways to show my information from what I have learnt from my surveys. I have been doing different back grounds for different topics within my video. Such as how to eat right, how to drink on the cheap and how to budget money. I have been trying to create a specific look for each topic, I am actually very impressed with myself, not to blow my own trumpet. Although so far I think this is looking good. I am going to take tomorrow sort of off from doing my main project and start doing sketches for card project. I also really need to concentrate on my ViewBug projects, as I am hoping to experiment with some portrait photography. I am also going to look up music for my video and get my info exact. SO that meaning on Tuesday I will be able to get really stuck into working on the video :)
